We know its been over a month since we've updated everyone on our whereabouts, but we assure you its because of all the fun, adventures, and relaxing on the beach we've been doing. To briefly catch you up to what we've been doing... We went to Bangkok twice, think hot and sweaty temple viewing and MEGA shopping center. Took a tour of Laos seeing the capital, stunning limestone mountains, majestic waterfalls and natural pools, vast caverns and caves, and some of the worst roads we've ever been on! We both got carsick, and neither of us have ever been carsick before. We came back to Thailand to ride elephants, visit a hill tribe village, go whitewater rafting with a crazy guide (Denton fell out in the rapids twice!). Then we moved south to the South Islands of Thailand (a 40 hour journey from north of Thailand, and over 1000km journey). On the diving mecca of Koh Tao, we spent 5 days at Buddha View Resort, becoming SCUBA certified and snorkeling with reef sharks.
We met some amazing people at Buddha View; Hannes, Phil, Albine, Paul & Tracy, Mathew & Lisa, and Michele & Carlos. We hope to meet up with many of our new friends in our future travels.
We left Koh Tao because it was very expensive and even though it's a tropical island, it felt like a desert and we got sunburned! We hopped to the next island, Koh Phangan, where we decided to set down some temporary roots for one month. We've rented a small 'house' at a resort, Utopia Phangan. The staff are incredibly friendly and there are STUNNING views (see the picture of the pool) just a few minutes from our house. Unfortunately, we had a few set backs; broken A/C, backed up drain, and rats as roommates. Fortunately, the first two items have been fixed and we have traps for the rats set out at this very moment. Wish us luck on that! Denton has agreed to empty the traps once we catch em! For the next month, we plan to catch up on emails, exercise, relax, read, explore the island, attend the famous Full Moon Party, and recharge for more traveling.

Thank you everyone for reading and following along in our travels. We love getting comments, emails, and suggestions of what sites we should not miss – so keep them coming!

  1. Pool by the water - looks awesome. Good luck with those pesky rats. Guess it will make you appreciate places without those uninvited guests!
